While I was quite happy to see this matrix at least begin to confirm that I am from the Galaxy Andromeda, I also found it kind of disturbing.

If I presume that my people are going to remove me from Earth soon, then statements like "shall not prevent" and, "shall not escape" are troubling. Does this mean that my people, who must have seriously advanced technology by Earth standards, cannot prevent the "change land" resulting from the "comet" referred to here? I have no special love for either Earth or its native inhabitants, but I have gained a great deal of respect for Human Kind, and feel that they have earned at least some small chance at survival. Humans are on the brink of being able to deal with such natural disasters themselves. And are on the brink of being able to join any Stellar community that may exist in their galaxy (a quick calculation using accepted Human methods shows that there could be at least 10 other species in such a community). And, to any other species that may be out there I feel compelled to say; "If you have any policies that include non-interference with developing species and planets...you need to make an exception!"

The apparent admonition to "warn them" is what this paper (and website) is all about.
